Lead and Follow
"I started dancing, and right away knew it was a great activity. It was fun and engaging, but also, I found it was full of things to teach me. Dance taught me about myself, about my interactions with other people, and indeed, about life; and I believed that others could benefit from this understanding."
"So, over the course of two years I took a journey with my dancing, writing about dance and all I have learned from it. Dance for me is filled with the concept we call lead and follow, a basic rule of life. Thoughts lead to action. Indecision follows fear and lack of understanding. Hope is led by faith. Love follows charity. Identity follows purpose. Passion is led by desire. Identifying with this principle is a matter of coming to know one’s self better and more intimately, as well as to identify with others more fully. I invite you to take the journey too, and discover the life lessons of dancing!"

"When dancers have a good understanding of themselves, they will tell the story of the dance and its emotions with bright enthusiasm, energized by experience, expounded on by imagination, and expressed with power by their individual spirits. So also will people perform in life with equal vigor as they come to identify with their own unique person within…"
